About Wombo
Wombo is an American three-piece indie rock band from Louisville, Kentucky. The band consists of Sydney Chadwick (bass guitar, vocals), Cameron Lowe (guitar), and Joel Taylor (drums).
Wombo was formed in 2016 by Sydney Chadwick and Cameron Lowe, who had previously been members of a punk-pop band called "The Debauchees". After that band dissolved, Chadwick and Lowe recruited drummer Joel Taylor, and the group made their live debut as Wombo in August 2016.
On July 7, 2017, the band released their first EP, "Staring at Trees". In 2018, they released their first full-length album, "Blossomlooksdownuponus", which was later added to streaming platforms on March 6, 2020, and reissued on vinyl by Fire Talk Records in 2021.
On March 2, 2021, Wombo announced that they had signed to Fire Talk Records. Approximately three weeks later, they released the single "Dreamsickle", which served as the lead single for their second EP, "Keesh Mountain", released on May 28, 2021.
The band's second studio album, "Fairy Rust", was released via Fire Talk Records on July 29, 2022. The album received generally positive critical attention, including commentary from The Fader, which described the lead singles as "a trove of dreams and secrets", and Paste, which described the record as "a fairytale written on a not-so-great acid trip". Pitchfork gave the album a score of 6.8, and UPROXX described it as a post-punk-influenced work with "droning guitars, frenetic chords, and angular melodies".
On June 9, 2023, Wombo released their third EP, "Slab". In September 2023, the band supported Bully on tour, and in October 2023 it was announced that they would support Cherry Glazerr on their 2024 Touch of Chaos Tour.
The band's third studio album, "Danger in Fives", was announced and released on August 8, 2025.
