Initially comprising of three members, “Pharaohs” came into existence in the month of December in the year 2005. The current lead vocalist of the band, Ramsay Fernandez joined beats with Achintan Mehta and Mandy Gupta to play at the bars and the pubs in the suburbs Of Mumbai. Taking a step ahead, by the mid of 2006, The Pharaohs was a full fledged metal band comprising of 10 members including the founders. Soon, the band was recognized by the Ministry of Youth & Culture in the state of Jammu & Kashmir and the guys were given a break to be a part of the Airtel - sponsored MTV J&K Youth Festival 2006. After that one performance, the band hasn’t looked back ever.

The band currently covers for Static X and Iron Maiden, and very soon, they’ll be coming up with there own songs too. The work of the band has been appreciated in the state of J&K and the guys are looking forward to perform live more and more. As of now, the band is on the way of creating an album of their own, hopefully which will be out sometime in the near future.

The band believes the necessity of spreading the spirit of music for free amongst the youth and promotion of evolved metal to the most common segments amongst the youth, for which they’ve decided there upcoming singles Laudate Dominium, Too Cold, Thunderpick and Desert Storm would be released under the Creative Commons license.
