About Takuya Nakamura
Tokyo-born multi-instrumentalist Takuya Nakamura has cast his eclectic musical style around the world through a variety of instruments and performance spaces.
His creative spectrum includes piano, trumpet, turntables and numerous electronic instruments in addition to being an active producer, composer, and improviser. He received formal musical training in both Japan and the U.S. and received his master’s degree at the New England Conservatory in Boston.
Takuya has collaborated and performed with artists such as John Cage, Quincy Jones, the Sun Ra Arkestra, CocoRosie, Laurie Anderson, GZA, Jojo Meyer, among others. The multi-disciplinary musician has performed at the Louvre to Burning Man, and an array of clubs, festivals, and galleries. When he’s not touring the globe, Takuya can be found DJ-ing and playing piano throughout New York City, his adopted home. Read more on Last.fm.
