About Slayyyter
Slayyyter (born Catherine Grace Garner on September 17, 1996, in Kirkwood, Missouri) is an American singer and songwriter known for her work in pop and hyperpop, often incorporating aesthetics inspired by late 1990s and early 2000s popular culture. She attended the University of Missouri for one year before leaving to pursue a music career full-time.
She began releasing lo-fi, 1980s-inspired material on SoundCloud under the name Slater before adopting the name Slayyyter in 2018. That year, she released her debut single "BFF", a collaboration with Ayesha Erotica. In February 2019, she issued the single "Mine", which gained attention on social media and reached number 38 on the U.S. iTunes pop chart within 24 hours of release. During the summer of 2019, she embarked on her first headlining concert run, titled "The Mini Tour", performing in cities including New York City and St. Louis.
In September 2019, she independently released the self-titled mixtape "Slayyyter", which reached number 4 on the U.S. iTunes Pop chart and number 14 on the overall iTunes albums chart. The project contributed to the growth of her online fanbase.
Her debut studio album, "Troubled Paradise", was released in June 2021 through Fader Label. The album included collaborations with producers such as Wuki and Gupi and received generally positive critical reception, with commentary noting a development in production and songwriting compared to her earlier work. The song "Daddy AF" later appeared on the soundtracks of the films "Bodies Bodies Bodies" (2022) and "Anora" (2024).
In September 2023, Slayyyter released her second studio album, "Starfucker", described as an 1980s-inspired pop record addressing themes including celebrity culture and media image. The album debuted at number 17 on the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart and later peaked at number 10. She supported the release with the "Club Valentine Tour", which ran from October 2023 to February 2024 across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. In February 2024, she made her first appearance on Boiler Room and premiered the single "Miss Belladonna".
In September 2024, she released the single "No Comma". In 2025, she collaborated with Kesha on the single "Attention", and joined her on the "Tits Out Tour". On August 1, 2025, Slayyyter signed with Columbia Records and released "BEAT UP CHANEL$" as the lead single from her forthcoming third studio album, "WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA".
