Santhiago

Santhiago aka Andrea Vecchio is an oboe musician graduated at Conservatorio G.S. Martini in Bologna. The rigid music base knowledge he had meet new patterns within new music experiences which are formed by the crossway of experimental and hybrid view of the music. SanthiAgo focuses on some important technical knowledges thanks some classes taken to become a sound technician at the Accademia dell Arti Cinematografiche in Bologna (2005) and sound designer at Ladis Corsi (bologna 2007). Thanks to these classes he becomes an expertise in the style of sound itself, using softwares such as Ableton Live due to his attendance at "Ableton Live" a workshop by guru musician Giancarlo Lanza, and furthermore SanthiAgo gets to use machines like Tenori-On and Korg-Koassilator. The project "Electronica Domestika" contains the first proofs of his art, mixing minimal, bossa nova, techno, breakbeats and it is also affected by SanthiAgo's deep Salento's roots rhythm wise.

Infinite are the collaborations within the Bologna enriched and various path of music, some names: Katshuto, Kaps Record and Microlabel. In fact with Microlabel the artist starts to develop a stable production continuity and to create around him a contaminated yet established music identity which makes him now more recognizable. But since music itself is indeed a never-ending universe of possibilities, since May 2008 Santhiago, after joining the 6th edition of the electronic music festival Homework Festival, starts off a serie of collaborations with various associations which goal is to promote different types of music.
He also starts to make audio/video installations for performing art/ contemporary dance shows thanks to "Duende" association, scores the music for some short movies and documentaries produced by "Retrobottega" , "Pettirouge".
