Potato may refer to:
1) A Thai rock band. Potato โปเตโต้
2) A basque reggae and ska band.
3) An english slacker and progressive rock band.
1) The band won numerous awards for their popularity in Thailand (see below). They released their fourth album, Sense, in 2007, and their fifth, Circle, in 2008.
Potato was formed by Peechanit Oan-Aari, Nantakrai Chao-Jaiharn (or Note) and Suwatin Watthanawitukun (or Bom) but currently (2009) none of the founding members still belong to the band.
Potato's original vocalist was Peechanit Oan-Aari(also known as Pee) but he died on October 3, 2002. This led to fragmentation of the band, but the band reunited in 2003. At the moment, Potato has a new drummer named Kan Uamsupan (or Kan) instead of Bom Suwatin Watthanawitukun, who now drums back-up Supersub band.
2) Potato is one of the oldest ska/reggae band from the Basque Country, they have several albums, and a tribute album celebrating their 25th anniversary.
3) Potato are a four-human band based between South East London and Margate, England, and are made up of Bob Corduroy (vocals/guitar/keys/clarinet), Matt Wildman (bass/guitar/synth), Sam Zissou (drums) and Sam Honey (guitar). Potato's sound is a rich and hearty blend of wonky Slacker Rock, Progressive Rock, Jazz, Opera and smatterings of everything inbetween, with influences such as Good Morning, Happyness, King Crimson and Phillip Glass.
