About Miya Folick
Miya Folick is an American singer-songwriter born in Santa Ana, California. She has spoken in interviews about how her multicultural background -- her mother is Japanse -- and upbringing in a religious community influenced her songwriting. After an abortive attempt at studying acting in college at NYU, she returned to Los Angeles and began focusing on music, releasing her debut EP, Strange Darling, in 2015. Her second EP, Give It to Me, followed in 2017 and included singles such as “Pet Body” and “God Is a Woman,” which helped expand her audience through streaming platforms and touring.
Folick released her first full-length album, Premonitions, in 2018. The album featured tracks including “Stop Talking” and marked her debut on a major independent label. She toured in support of the record across the United States and internationally. In 2022, she issued the EP 2007, a project reflecting on her teenage years, before releasing her second studio album, Roach, in 2023. Singles from that album included “Bad Thing” and “Get Out of My House.”
In 2025, Folick released her third studio album, Erotica Veronica. The album was preceded by singles including “Erotica” and “La Da Da.” Across her career, Folick has performed at major music festivals and toured with various indie and alternative artists.
