metsu/滅 is a band from toronto that writes and plays music.

"Sub-Genres are a funny thing. Most people are so divided on their true meanings or if they even account for anything. With Metal being such a niche genre during these harsh (and fruitful times) in music, it’s always refreshing to find a band that elevates the genre. You can look at this in two ways – they’re taking advantage of many of the metal sub-genres, or they’re just simply creating a unique sound. I would vote the latter because in my opinion, that’s how sub-genres are created.

They’re created by bands who are progressing the sounds of an entire genre by bringing in something new. Whether it’s from another genre, movement, or their various influences. metsu is one of those bands." -New Zerø

metsu released their debut record, "as the earth drinks", on June 28, 2011. Clocking in at 26:26, "as the earth drinks" was recorded when each member was 19 years old, and self-produced/self-released.
