About Mascara
Mascara are a Finnish pop music group consisting of three women. At the height of their popularity, the group’s members were Sari Wallenius, Katri Somerjoki, and Maria Sundfors (née Määttä). They used the stage names Kveeni (Wallenius), Mizu (Somerjoki), and S-Team (Sundfors). After Maria Sundfors left, she was replaced by Tiia Tamminen. At the same time, the stage names also changed: Geeni (Wallenius), Nizu Pudding Somerjoki, and DJ Tantta (Tamminen).
The band’s best-known song is “Erittäin hyvä (ellei täydellinen)”. The band performed for a year and a half, after which they broke up. Mascara also performed and recorded with pop singer Frederik.
In the autumn of 2014, the band appeared on Yle TV2’s entertainment show We Want More, which led to the band recording a new song, “Tänään, tässä ja nyt”. A compilation album was also released in connection with the show. The band made a second comeback in 2019 when they performed at the Jysäri Festival and took part in the HitMix cruise.
