About Lil Yachty

Miles Parks McCollum (born August 23, 1997), known professionally as Lil Yachty, is an American rapper who first attracted public attention in 2015 with the viral single "One Night", included on the extended play "Summer Songs". He released his debut mixtape "Lil Boat" in March 2016, and later that year signed a joint venture record deal with Motown, Capitol Records, and Quality Control Music.

His debut studio album "Teenage Emotions" (2017) reached number five on the Billboard 200. The follow-up "Lil Boat 2" (2018) peaked at number two, and "Nuthin' 2 Prove" (2018) reached number 12. His fourth album "Lil Boat 3" (2020) peaked at number 14. With his fifth album "Let's Start Here" (2023), he shifted from his earlier hip-hop style toward psychedelic rock and received increased critical attention. His collaborative album with James Blake, "Bad Cameo" (2024), continued this stylistic exploration.

McCollum is additionally recognized for his featured appearances on the 2016 singles "Broccoli" by DRAM and "ISpy" by Kyle, the former earning him a Grammy Award nomination. His public image has included a light-hearted musical approach and a distinctive red hairstyle during the early years of his career.
