Jetset
About Jetset
There is more than one artist with this name:
(not to be confused with the late '70s British Mod group, The Jetset)
1. A Greek Garage/Punk Band
2. A German Rock Band
3. Dutch hardcore band
4. American alternative pop artist.
1. JetSet were actually formed around 1999 in Thessaloníki, GR, but past members, formations and work have been sent to limbo, with only the band name to remain. Jorge and LarryG, the two core members of the band, regave form to Jetset in 2003 along with Giannis Nikolaou on drums and Orestis Ziogos as a frontman. Some live appearences were given, mostly supporting Alexandros Perros and the Lone Stars and halfway in 2004 Orestis left the band, giving the microphone stand to Kyriakos.
With this formation JetSet actually started to shift genre and style and had their first unfruitful attempts to record some songs, since Giannis left Thessaloniki in the end of 2005 and the band's common time ran short. A year had passed without any actual work before the remaining members decided to give it another go. Finally sometime around the first weeks of 2007 the drummer's seat changed occupant and on 02.04 JetSet gave their first live appearance in a while, in Mylos supporting venue (Xylourgeio).
Nearly a year after their first public signs of life, JetSet finally number five members and, with a 6'3" height average, feel like a little yet strong fighting unit. With Mr. Nick Bouklas and his jazzy Saxophone welcomed to their ranks, JetSet reach out for a more spaced-out scent to their original jam. Having given some live performances across Greece, the band stormed into studio, recorded 2 Decent Songs And Some Fillers EP, taking a good step towards their first release.
News, live dates and other trivia can be fetched through their Myspace page, http://www.myspace.com/jetsetrocknroll.
3. Jetset was a Hardcore band from Groningen in the Netherlands, releasing several albums with fellow Groningen HC band Bloedbad. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
