About Chime

1. Chime is Harvey Goldfinch, an electronic producer from Leeds, England producing electronic music since 2010 under numerous aliases, including the notable DnB act 'Caution & Crisis', formed with their younger brother who now produces under 'Fluent', as well as the alias Dec3mber, used in 2014.

Chime started in August 2015, and has released several EPs such as 'Escapism' (Sep 2015), 'From Fairies To Fire' & 'Head In The Clouds' (May 2016 for both), 'Invincible' (Aug 2017), 'Experience Points' (Apr 2018), 'Featherweight' (May 2018) & 'Evolve' (Nov 2018), mostly under the imprints Circus Records & Firepower Records. During this time, they would produce in the Brostep vein, mainly improving their production over time, with notably great success with some of the cuts found in Experience Points & Evolve. They would also release their signature cuts in this timeframe, 'Starstorm' & 'Wait For Me'.

During 2019, they moved his sound into a darker territory, subsequently signing to Disciple Records and releasing the EPs 'Sidequest' (Mar 2019), 'Interdimensional' (Jul 2019), 'Our Flame' (Aug 2020) & 'We Are Tritone' (Feb 2021), We Are Tritone in particular being a collaboration EP with Franky Nuts & Oliverse. They saw some success in these releases, however they ultimately left Disciple and signed to Monstercat.

During March - April 2023, Chime would gradually release singles for their upcoming record LP, which on April 25, 2023, would debut as 'Aetherborne'. The record met critical acclaim.

After this, they experimented with a minimal sound, and he coined this sound as the 'Microdrop', a formation of Colour Bass & Microfunk. Fellow producer Bop was their main inspiration for this sound.

Chime opened their own record imprint "Rushdown" in 2016, which focuses on their Colour Bass genre. The imprint mainly pushes out highly intricate material, with several of the releases meeting critical acclaim. The imprint, as of July 2025, is currently in limbo.
